…and another thing: Safari for Windows is available

Apple's WWDC keynote just ended, and cross-platform browser testing just got easier for those stuck on Windows: Safari is now available for Windows.

I gave it a quick spin, and even though it's a beta release, it's fast and reasonably stable crash-prone. It has lots of interesting features like the sexy tab dragging (First seen in Opera, perfected by Apple) — try dragging a tab outside its window.

The biggest thing for me is probably support for Apple-style shortcuts even on Windows — finally I can do Ctrl-W to close a window/tab instead of Ctrl-F4. The amount of frustration that will save me cannot be underestimated.

Other things worth noting:

• The new Leopard features were revealed — I have been rooting for Stacks since the first time I saw it, and it finally made it into a shipping OS. The patent on this thing is from 1984!
• They finally FTFF — New Finder gets CoverFlow, Quick Look, Stacks, and more.
• Apple.com has a new layout — their layout was getting a bit old, the new one feels very fresh.
• No mention of ZFS that I can find — DTrace is mentioned though, so I'm hoping it's just an omission. The file system on the Mac really needs a replacement.
• Apple stock is down $5. Gotta love the stock market.
• The iPhone will support HTML widgets — bring on the iPlone!
